Welcome to ZanziBaZaar. By creating an account, browsing our marketplace, placing an order, or registering as a vendor or delivery partner, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not accept these Terms, you may not register an account or use the ZanziBaZaar marketplace. We may periodically update these terms, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and possess full legal capacity to enter into binding agreements to create an account on ZanziBaZaar.
When creating any account on ZanziBaZaar (whether as a Customer, Vendor, or Delivery Partner), you agree to:
ZanziBaZaar operates as a curated digital marketplace platform. We connect independent Zanzibar artisans, cooperatives, organic farmers, and boutique shops with buyers globally.
While ZanziBaZaar enforces strict quality checks and maker verification, the legal contract of sale for craft products is formed directly between the buyer and the verified vendor. ZanziBaZaar provides the technological infrastructure, secure EVPay payment escrow/settlement, order management, and route delivery logistics.
All prices on ZanziBaZaar are listed in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) and include applicable marketplace taxes. Where currency conversions are shown for international visitors, they are for informational reference; final checkout billing occurs in TZS.
Payment Methods: We integrate directly with EVPay (licensed by the Bank of Tanzania). Customers can authorize payments through:
Payment Authorization
Orders are confirmed only after EVPay successfully confirms settlement of the required funds. Never send cash or make off-platform payments to individual drivers or vendors.
ZanziBaZaar provides door-to-door delivery across Unguja, Pemba, and designated collection centers. Delivery quotes are computed automatically based on verified road distances, vehicle type, and fuel route indices.
Customers must ensure that an authorized person is present at the delivery location with the registered phone number available. Upon handover, the customer has the right and duty to inspect the package before signing confirmation with the delivery partner.
Because many items are handcrafted, small natural variations in wood grain, hand-woven textiles, and organic spice aromas are hallmarks of authentic Zanzibar craftsmanship.
However, if an item arrives damaged, defective, or significantly different from its verified listing, you must report the issue within 48 hours of delivery through your ZanziBaZaar order dashboard or customer support. Valid claims are eligible for free artisan replacement or a refund to your original payment wallet.

All branding, trademarks, website design, illustrations, and digital assets of ZanziBaZaar are the property of ZanziBaZaar. Artisan photography, maker stories, and craft descriptions are licensed to ZanziBaZaar for marketplace promotion and international exposure.
These Terms of Service and any contractual disputes arising out of your use of the marketplace shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Zanzibar and the United Republic of Tanzania.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably through our customer support conciliation process shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Zanzibar.
