Welcome to ZanziBaZaar. ZanziBaZaar is a digital marketplace designed to connect customers with vendors, artisans, farmers, producers, retailers and businesses operating in or supplying products from Zanzibar.
These Vendor Terms, Quality & Marketplace Policy (“Vendor Policy”) establish the rules and standards that every vendor must follow when registering, listing, marketing, selling and fulfilling orders through ZanziBaZaar. By registering as a vendor, submitting products for approval, or continuing to use the ZanziBaZaar Vendor Portal, the vendor confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to these terms.

ZanziBaZaar may verify vendors before allowing them to sell. Verification may include:
Approval does not constitute a guarantee or certification by ZanziBaZaar that every aspect of a vendor's business is compliant with every applicable law.
Vendors are responsible for ensuring that products listed on ZanziBaZaar:
Where products are subject to specific standards, certification or regulatory requirements, the vendor must comply with those requirements.
Vendors must not list or sell products prohibited by applicable law or by ZanziBaZaar. ZanziBaZaar may maintain a separate prohibited-products list and may remove products that present legal, safety, fraud, consumer-protection or reputational risks.
All product information must be truthful and complete. Vendors must not:
Vendors are responsible for providing accurate prices. Where applicable, prices must clearly communicate:
Customers must not be charged an amount materially different from the amount presented during the purchasing process except where a lawful and clearly disclosed adjustment applies.
Vendors must keep product availability reasonably accurate. If a product becomes unavailable, the vendor must update or disable the listing promptly. Repeatedly accepting orders for unavailable products may result in restrictions on the vendor account.

Products must be packaged appropriately for their nature. Packaging must protect products from:
Food, cosmetics, fragile goods and other sensitive products may require additional packaging requirements.
Vendors must comply with applicable consumer-protection requirements and ZanziBaZaar's Returns and Refund Policy. Where a product is defective, materially different from its description, damaged before delivery, counterfeit, or otherwise subject to a valid consumer claim, the vendor may be required to:
Applicable legal rights cannot be removed merely by a vendor's private terms.

Vendor access to customer information is limited to legitimate marketplace purposes. A vendor must not:
Personal data must be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements. The Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 applies to Zanzibar subject to its statutory limitation regarding non-Union matters.
Vendors must have the necessary rights to use:
A vendor must not upload content that infringes another person's intellectual-property rights.
Where applicable, vendors agree to pay the fees, commissions or other charges displayed or agreed under the ZanziBaZaar vendor programme. ZanziBaZaar may establish different commercial arrangements for different vendor categories.
Vendor payments will be processed according to the applicable ZanziBaZaar payment and settlement procedures. ZanziBaZaar may delay settlement where reasonably necessary to investigate:
ZanziBaZaar may investigate suspicious activity. A vendor must cooperate with reasonable investigations. Accounts may be temporarily restricted where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, abuse or unlawful activity.
ZanziBaZaar may suspend, restrict or terminate a vendor account where the vendor:
Where appropriate, the vendor will be given an opportunity to address the issue.
The vendor remains responsible for its business, employees, agents, products, licences, taxes and legal obligations. Registration on ZanziBaZaar does not transfer the vendor's legal responsibilities to ZanziBaZaar.
ZanziBaZaar may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through appropriate platform channels. Continued use after the effective date of an updated policy may constitute acceptance where legally permissible.
These terms shall be interpreted consistently with the applicable laws of Zanzibar and the United Republic of Tanzania, as applicable to the relevant matter. Where a matter is governed by Zanzibar-specific law, the applicable Zanzibar legislation shall apply.
Before completing registration, the vendor must actively confirm:
